Mihi/Pepeha

Pepeha

In Maori we are looking at our pepeha. These tell a person lots of important information about us. Over the weekend we need to collect some details to include in our pepeha writing next week.

We hope that our mum's and dads can help us write some of these things down to use. 

The sentences we will be using are on the template below 

Mandarin

Today we had our first Mandarin lesson of 2019 with Ms Li. We looked at how to introduce ourselves. 

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday

On the 5th of March we celebrated Shrove Tuesday. We started by coming together as a school with Monsignor Bernard to burn the palms from last years palm Sunday. Monsignor Bernard will use these to mark our heads on Ash Wednesday. 

We then made pancakes in class. Sometimes people call Shove Tuesday 'Pancake day'

Growth mindset - Affirmations 

During topic time, room 8 read the book "I think, I am". We learned all about affirmations and how positive self talk can improve our self image. 

We wrote our own affirmations to remind ourselves of our own wonderful qualities. Here they are below
