Statistics in Room 8

In Room 8 we have been working on Statistics.We have learnt that statistics is about collecting, sorting and displaying information using graphs and charts.We did lots of surveys, using the information from the surveys we made bar graphs, strip graphs, pictographs and tally charts.In groups we used the information from the graphs and analysed it.We made questions about the graphs.I think everyone had a better understanding about statistics and 

what it was all about.I really enjoyed making different types of graphs.

            

                      

                                           

Room 8's Persuasive Writing

In Room 8 we have been doing persuasive writing about different topics. We looked at many examples of persuasive writing, discussed features and why this kind of writing is important.Next we brainstormed ideas then started writing.First we had to think of an interesting hook so it can catch the readers attention.We wrote our persuasive stories and edited it before publishing it.The purpose of persuasive writing is to persuade others to do something. Today we can see many persuasive words on billboards, magazines and televisions. We enjoyed reading each others persuasive writings.
