Ruma Wari Print Making

Room 8 have been learning about introduced species. For our art we did print making. First we photocopied an image of an introduced species in New Zealand that had become a pest. Next we placed the image on the polystyrene and traced the outline of the image. After that we used rollers and rolled the ink on the image. Once the polystyrene was covered with coloured ink, a clean piece of paper was placed on the polystyrene and firmly pressed then the top of the paper was gently rubbed. Finally the paper was peeled from the polystyrene and the colourful image could be seen on the paper. We had fun making prints of animals introduced to New Zealand.
